The Academy aims to serve the community in the following ways:

-To lead the national development of regulated accreditation for coaches, working in conjunction with the UKSA to standardize coaching within the UKCC framework.

-To work alongside agencies to provide meaningful schemes that support and complement the objectives of users such as Social Services, Health and Education.

-To facilitate the progression of the cultures that support the activities in providing a focal point of contact and ensuring ‘year round’ space is provided for continued development and celebration of achievement.


Courses available:

The Works Academy now offers a range of schemes that are educational, rewarding and exciting for those participating at all levels.
Services such as BMX and Skateboard tuition can be delivered from a single taster session through to a full term of activities. These can also be experienced with integrated tuition of filming and editing using industry standard Apple Macintosh software and Sony products.

Tailored sessions can be arranged to suit the needs of group objectives.

Quality assurance…

All of the coaches employed by the Academy are screened using CRB disclosure and have received child protection training. Sessions are carefully planned to suit every participants needs and risk assessments are available on request.

With experienced staff we have a proven history of successful partnerships. The Academy is proud to have collaborated with the BBC Yorkshire Dance, The Primary Care Trust, Leeds City Council, Education Leeds, Probation Services, and numerous youth groups.
